I teach my kids that the American dream is EARNED through hard work not GIVEN. I teach my kids that good, honest work in life is a life that is blessed. I teach my kids that having differences is what makes life interesting, so accept those differences and find the common. I teach my kids that NOBODY or ORGANIZATION is perfect, so find where you fit and strive to make things better from within. I teach my kids that civic duty is morally and ethically mandatory, because nothing gets better without involvement. I teach my children that when I say fight for what you believe in, that doesn't mean let’s see who can out scream the opposition or who can call the most names or who can try to dig up the most dirt on imperfect people. I teach my kids that GOD made us all different for a reason, he could have made us like robots but GOD loves variety. I teach my kids that they will make mistakes, and that is OK, but NEVER blame your mistakes on others. I try to teach my kids through showing my kids that I am not perfect. I show my kids how much I LOVE this country even when those in charge piss me off. I show my kids what not to do through my mistakes. Instead of talking about “diversity”, I show my kids diversity by modeling it in my personal life. The most important thing I teach/show my kids is the importance of LOVING GOD the father, and knowing that JESUS CHRIST died for our sins and he is alive today and that he loves us in all of our imperfections. We the PARENTS are the BEST teachers for our kids, because they learn by what WE do and TEACH, not just, by what is said. PARENTING is the most important job in the life of a child. It doesn't just matter what we want for our kids and grandkids, it is what we teach/show them.
